This is my first ever quilt. I think it turned out fantastic. I'm sure everyone will agree on this. I made this for my boyfriends 22nd birthday. The fabrics were all scraps my mom had laying around, so I picked the manliest ones I could find. The pattern is called Turning Twenty, which is a book that my mom had lying about as well. For those that are new to quilting, or want to give it a try, I recommend this book. Not only is the quilt super easy to make, the directions are easy to understand. Check it out.
The back of the quilt is actually a sheet, (again, which we had around in the house) and was chosen because he absolutely loves fall (and who could blame him?). It was a super soft flannel and was brand new when it was discovered at a thrift store.
Here is another shot of the quilt. The quilting that was done on top of all the fabrics as not done by me. I had hired a lady who had a long arm sewing machine that had a programmed leaf pattern, which is what you see now.
My boyfriend lives a couple of states away and I was just about to hop on the plane to see him. Forgetting to take pictures of my work of art, I threw his birthday present on my bed and took some quick shots of my work as quickly as I could. I apologize of the pictures are sub-par.
One more picture for you viewers out there. You can clearly see my headboard with my tattoo lamp, elephant bookends, books, and flower pens that someone had made for me.
This concludes my first craft post about my first quilt ever made. For those who are curious, my boyfriend (at least claims to) loves his quilt and burritos himself in it as much as he can.
